The London Legal Walk raises funds for free legal advice agencies in and around London.
You never know when you might find yourself in a situation where you need access to free advice, whether it is about a debt or family problem, issues with a council or other government body, a consumer issue or housing difficulties.
Particularly after the legal aid cuts, access to legal advice to help avoid homelessness, to protect children, to ensure decent living conditions and fair treatment in a workplace is more important than ever.
The London Legal Walk is an annual event which takes place on Monday May 22nd this year and is a 10km circular walk starting at around 4.30pm at Carey Street WC2 and ending around 2-3 hours later, when there will be a street party. There are two routes and we’ve decided to follow the Parks Route which goes through St James’ Park, Green Park and Hyde Park. Here’s the link to the website:
The Walk is designed to raise awareness of the importance of pro-bono work and of access to legal advice for everyone. Around 10,000 people take part each year. Law firm employees walk to raise money for charities which provide legal advice. Advice charities like us walk to raise funding for their own work, and all of the funding that we attract, including Gift Aid, will go directly to Citizens Advice Tunbridge Wells and District with no deductions.
