The Book of Joy
The ‘Book of Joy’ is where we record all our good news stories, feedback and thank you’s from clients and successful outcomes. Whilst we can’t be in the office we have moved the Book of Joy online.
In September 2020 we received an email from a client letting us know that our support helped them to successfully overturn an ESA decision. Thanks to our Senior Supervisor Alison and several volunteers who worked on this case.

Volunteers Week 2020
Our Chief Executive Liz de Villiers was on BBC Radio Kent on Thursday 4 June talking about how amazing our volunteers have been during the Coronavirus pandemic.
All our existing funders have been very understanding and have continued to support us as we moved our team to home-based working. We have received Covid-19 grants from Kent Community Foundation, Tesco Bags for Life, the Raddon Fund, The Clothworkers Foundation and the Salway Grassroots Fund. If you would like to support our work please see here for more information.
We have been successful in our application to the Government’s Coronavirus Community Support Fund which is distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund. We will receive £65,000 over six months from October 2020 to March 2021 which will enable us to fund ICT equipment and support to new volunteers and advisers and deliver an additional 4000 hours of advice to households in crisis in Tunbridge Wells. Read our press release here:
We are thrilled to have received a grant of £30,000 from the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust Charity Survival Fund which will support our core funding and enable us to deal with the surge in demand for advice caused by the pandemic.
